09 Feb (Mon): Port Isabel, TX. A memory: I’m a professional ski patrolman, Sun Valley, ID. Ski all day, party all night. My 21st birthday drinking @ favorite hangout Pago Pete’s. Pete says drinks are free if he can choose = boilermakers (beer & whiskey). I’m blasted in short order. Ski mates prop me up on the shoulder of beautiful barmaid, Shally McKenzie, for a photo op. Oh no!!! Sudden projectile barfarooney in her ear, on her face, down her front. Major buzzkill 60 years ago tonight, 09 February 1966. |
