Volunteering by spending the winter in a horse barn at Frontier Park in Graham, WA. We were here last year in the winter also and they asked us to come back and installed full hookups in one of their show horse barns. Out of the weather till we leave here in the spring.

16 Sep (Tue):Hamilton, MT. Mid-1960s on nearby Trapper Peak. I operated a chainsaw on a 30-man USFS Hotshot Fire Crew. Huge blaze, wind switched, no escape route, stranded on a high ridge. Radioed for helicopter rescue, no can do, too much smoke, wind too severe. Stashed our equipment incl two chain saws, parts, oil, gasoline. Dug trenches, into foil body bags. A crew mate told Nancy he peeked out, saw me standing, smoking a cigarette as the approaching fire wall roared. We 30 survived. Youth invincibility.
